Light First

Goat Appears

Sunlight landed on a boulder.

Then vanished like

a pigeon at a spelling bee.

Clouds dashed over the

mountain like cotton candy

with poor navigation skills.

The light moved on.

A lake practicing its vinyasa,

down dog and all.

A heron asleep standing up.

A snail wearing a cabbage hat.

Then—

GOAT.

Balancing a blueberry

on its nose.

The light vanished.

Across the trail,

a pinecone in yellow

socks was glowing.
