Here for now
Whoosh
A ribbon of seaweed
arrived sideways.
No luggage.
A wave had apparently
handled transportation.
It curled around a rock
wearing a sand hat.
A gull stepped over it
carrying half a cracker.
The tide came back.
WHOOSH.
The seaweed moved
three umbrellas down.
A clam was already there
playing with a yo-yo.
Nobody exchanged names.
Another wave rolled in.
The rock disappeared.
The clam stayed.
The seaweed left.
By afternoon, a strand had wrapped
itself around a piece of driftwood.
For now.
A tiny wave reached up.
WHOOSH.
See you on the trail. 🐾
dirt first
everything else is a surprise
