Two grasshoppers compared
their knees.
Nobody raised their voice.
The water wrinkled, then
forgot why.
A cricket leaned closer with
one shoelace untied.
Somewhere, a woodpecker
renovated the upstairs.
The pond listened harder.
Even the wind came back
to hear.
A caterpillar checked for
traffic.
Nothing was coming.
